Awards, Awards, Awards!

The awards race has officially begun!  Yesterday several prominent critics groups released their awards – the American Film Institute’s films of the year, the National Board of Review’s awards, the New York Film Critics Circle awards, the Boston Society of Film Critics awards…

And today the Golden Globe nominations were announced.  Looks like Brokeback Mountain is the film to beat all around.  I’m looking forward to seeing it – as well as Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha, Match Point, Syriana, The Squid and The Whale.  And I need to catch up on all the movies I missed this past year that are now getting awards – Hustle & Flow, Cinderella Man, History of Violence…
